We will focus on a naturalistic approach by using research-based principles of ABA that focus on intrinsically motivating items and materials. Reinforcement is embedded into the task. Teaching occurs in the setting directly related to the skill. We look for “teachable moments” when the child displays interest and excitement about a particular person, item, or object.
We understand and value the role family plays in the lives of young children affected by autism. Parents and caregivers are the constant and most important supporters of children, therefore parental involvement in therapy is highly encouraged and supported. Therapy should be designed in a way that can be implemented and sustained in the home, the child’s natural setting.
We provide compassionate ABA by putting continuous emphasis on client and family input. Goals, strategies, and outcome measures are determined in consultation with the individuals who will be affected by the intervention. We understand the struggles families face and are flexible to meeting the changing needs of families we serve. We will do all we can to support children and families in all setting and situations where our services are needed.
We see ABA as a collaborative effort between our clinical staff, the family, child’s healthcare providers, and educators. Partnering with parents, we will create an environment that will promote meaningful learning opportunities and experiences in various settings. By consulting and collaborating with other providers, we will create an effective program that will meet the unique needs of the child and family.
